Accident mortel aux essais de Carel Godin DE BEAUFORT sur sa PORCHE....... 1ère apparition d'un F1 Japonaise, HONDA..... LOTUS fait débuter sa 33..... Essais du vendredi, sur un circuit amélioré et Graham HILL obtient le record du Tour mais dès l'après-midi Lorenzo BANDINI réalise le meilleur chrono de la journée... Le lendemain, c'est John SURTEES qui bat le record est fait la Pôle, c'est là aussi que survient le drame.... Une séance supplémentaires fut organisée pour permettre a Gerhard MITTER et Ronnie BUCKNUM de faire les Tours nécessaires pour être Qualifiés...
Course sous un ciel couvert..... Lorenzo BANDINI part en tête, mais pas longtemps, Abandon déjà de Mike HAILWOOD, moteur dans ce 1er Tour et Jo BONNIER, allumage, Jim CLARK prends le commandement, mais il a rapidement des problèmes avec sa sélection de boîte de vitesses et un sur- régime, SURTEES premier au 2ème Tour, malgré un Dan GURNEY déchaîné, un moment 1er, avant d'avoir lui aussi, des problèmes de surchauffe, Abandon de P.HILL, moteur de Giancarlo BAGHETTI au 3ème Tour, accélérateur de Edgar BATH au 4ème Tour, embrayage de Bruce McLAREN au 5ème Tour, soupape dans le même Tour, Bob ANDERSON, fuite de carburant, Jim CLARK au 8ème Tour Abandonne lui aussi et Sortie de Piste de la Nouvelle HONDA au 11ème Tour avec BUCKNUM, 2ème place récupérée par G.HILL malgré des problèmes d'alimentation moteur....
