Info : 1er GP d'ESPAGNE, dernier GP de la saison pour l'attribution du titre..... Info : une nouveauté, une MASERATI 4CLT avec un moteur OSCA 4500G pour le prince "BIRA"....... Qualifications sur jeudi et vendredi, Juan Manuel FANGIO plus rapide le jeudi mais Pôle d'Alberto ASCARI le vendredi......
Course : temps chaud et beau.... 300000 spectateurs.... Super Départ de José Froilan GONZALEZ mais au 1er virage c'est ASCARI qui passe en tête..... Abandon de BIRA au 1er Tour, moteur et Louis CHIRON au 4ème Tours, culbuteur...FANGIO double ASCARI au 4ème Tour après avoir remarqué les problèmes de pneus de ASCARI..... Abandon de Yves GIRAUD-CABANTOUS au 7ème Tour, sortie de piste heurté par un chien !!! Abandon de Georges GRIGNARD au 24ème Tours, moteur, de Maurice TRINTIGNANT au 25ème Tours, embrayage.... Les FERRARI avaient montées des pneus trop petits pour ce circuit et déchapèrent en course, Piero TARUFFI perdit même une roue au 30ème Tour.... FANGIO malgré ses 2 ravitaillements au 29ème Tour et 53ème, gère la course avec en plus, peu après la mi-course une série de tête-à -queue devant lui de : Johnny CLAES Accident au 37ème Tours et de André SIMON au 48ème Tours qui casse son moteur. Abandon aussi de Luigi VILLORESI au 48ème Tour, alimentation..... Dernière Victoire d'une ALFETTE et d'une voiture alimentée par un compresseur volumétrique.....
