Alberto ASCARI est mort lors d'Essai LE 26 Mai, juste après le GP de MONACO, tué en tenue de ville juste sorti de l'hôpital après sa fracture du nez et ses commotions, triste très triste le 1er Double CHAMPION du Monde s'en ai allé..... Johnny CLAES casse le moteur de la MASERATI personnelle de Stirling MOSS qu'il lui avait louée.... Pôle pour Eugenio CASTELLOTTI avec le Record de la Piste, grâce aussi a la pluie dans la dernière séance.....
Course : Juan Manuel FANGIO part en tête suivit par MOSS.... tête-à-queue de Jean BEHRA au 4ème Tour qui retourne aux Stands a pieds et reprend le volant de la Voiture de Roberto MIERES qui c'est foulé la cheville dans les Stand... Abandon de Mike HAWTHORN au 12ème Tour, boîte de vitesses, casse du moteur de la Voiture de CASTELLOTTI, au 16ème Tour LANCIA ne sera plus en Formule 1 sous son nom et Abandon de Karl KLING au 22ème Tour, canalisation d'huile......Course dominée par les MERCEDES mais l'homme du jour et Paul FRERE chez lui 4ème......
